Citrus and a hint of oak — after aromatic, the most useful bottle of bitters to own.
Gentian root for the bitterness, orange for the brightness, and oak picked up from resting in repurposed Woodford Reserve barrels. It works on its own in an old fashioned and better still paired with a second bitters; sassafras and sorghum is the combination the distillery keeps returning to.
Also worth keeping for a martini, which is where orange bitters started in the first place.
