Our beloved Mississippi Delta Tomato Basil Soup is back and better than ever, bursting with vibrant ripe tomato, aromatic basil, sweet bell pepper, butternut squash, and garden carrots, all balanced with tender rice for a smooth, hearty finish.

This pantry-friendly mix makes it simple: just add broth, tomato puree, a hint of brown sugar, and cream for a bowl that tastes like it simmered all afternoon but takes only about 35 minutes.

How to Make It

1. In a 3- or 4-quart non-aluminum pot, bring broth to a boil.
2. Reduce heat and stir in soup mix. Return to a simmer, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.
3. Stir in tomato puree and brown sugar.
4. Return to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.
5. Reduce heat and slowly stir in the cream.
6. Continue cooking uncovered on low for 5 minutes, then serve.
