This pantry-friendly mix keeps prep simple—just caramelize fresh onions, add broth and simmer to a homemade bowl in about 50 minutes.

How to Make It
- Peel onion, cut into quarters, then cross-cut the quarters into narrow semi-circle slices.
- In a 4-quart pot, melt butter and sauté onion for 10 minutes; to caramelize, add 1 teaspoon sugar and continue cooking about 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Stir in soup mix. Add broth, apple cider or juice and Worcestershire.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, cover and cook for 40 minutes.
- Serve as is or top each bowl with croutons and Gruyère cheese.
